This print campaign created by JWT London for Kleenex shows two possible outcomes of the same scenario. The campaign relates to the “Let it all out” slogan, trying to portray the message that Kleenex are there for both the good and the bad.

The campaign won many awards, so many that it was the most awarded campaign in 2010 according to the 2010 GUNN report. There are many aspects to this campaign that made it so successful. Their choice of illustration in the campaign is significant because it looks as if it were created out of paper, and due to the chosen media being print, I believe that gives it that extra edge that is needed when trying to grab the audience’s attention. The idea of opposite pages/sides meaning opposite ends has been used before, but it is very appropriate for the message of Kleenex being there whatever the outcome, good or bad.

Another aspect of the campaign that adds that extra “friendliness” that a tissue brand needs is their placing of the logo and slogan. Kleenex’s positioning in both circumstances enforces the idea that they are there no matter the outcome, and both in a non-offensive and supportive way. I also believe that their ignoring of the typical “brand and slogan subtly in the corner” shows differentiation from other ads, and that they aren’t like other brands.

I began to know John Lewis since I came to UK. And definitely I love John Lewis because its good quality of goods and nice decoration of shopwindows. But I never try to know about its management and marketing until yesterday we saw a film called “Inside John Lewis”, which brings us into its management including how to manage different brands, how to give bonus to its employees, and how to manage goods which are on sale. After I saw this film, I began to know why it is so successful in such a fierce competition of marketing.

What I want to talk about first is that the managers gave 13% bonus to their employees. It is such a lucky thing to be a staff who work in John Lewis. In the film, every employee has full of passion. It is just like a big family. They work happier, they work harder, they get more.

What impressed me is that every different festival, they have different subject in their shopwindow. Last week, I have been John Lewis in Southampton, there are lots of lovely things about Halloween. So lovely, So beautiful, I like it! In that film, they also talked about a subject of Wedding. They decorated the shopwindow in such a romantic way which really touched my heart!

Last, I want to talk about its ADs. I love it. I love the scene of 2 children received gifts of cups, they cheer and hug. It make me feel warm.

Yep, I want to see the next two parts, although maybe I cannot totally understand it.

Hello, everyone. My name is HUANG Zhujun. I come from Shanghai, China. And my English name is Mika. You can call me Mika. I was born at the end of June, 1989. I am 22 yeas old now. I just graduated from my bachelor university in Shanghai. And my bachelor major was Japanese. I have learned Japanese for 4 years. Before I came to UK, I got the offer of ‘Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching’ from Uni of Soton. And during my pre-sessional course, I changed my idea and I tried to transfer my major. Cuz I don’t want to just be a language teacher in the future and I am actually interested in advertising. Fortunenately, under the help of my tutor, I succeeded. So I become a member of this major - Advertising Design Management now. In my bachelor life, I knew nearly nothing about advertising. And about my internship, what related to this major is only that I have worked as an intern in a web company for several months. So I must work harder and harder.

I am a person with cheerful character and strange creative ideas sometimes. I love colourful things and colourful life. I love letters, words and beautiful sentences. I want to live with various experience in my future. I want to work in an advertising company in the future ten years. Although it will be very hard, I will enjoy with that.
